Millhill Farm derives it’s name from being the farm on the ‘big hill’ up above the Watermill in the Glen below.
It has been a working farm for over 100 years and has been and still is home to beef cattle, sheep, free range pigs and turkeys.
The farmhouse bed and breakfast was opened in 2007 after a large purpose built extension was built onto the house creating 2 ensuite bedrooms and a lounge/dining room for guests. The result is a feeling that you are in your own side of the house, making it easy to come and go as you please.
Tom and Susan and their two sons Charlie and Hamish have lived at Millhill Farm since Tom’s father retired in 2002. Before then Tom ran the farm with his father. He is a keen hedgelayer, having competed and won several national competitions.
Susan’s background is in horses and tuition and latterly in Sales, marketing and management. She is still a keen horserider, enthusiastic cook and 'foodie'.
Tom and Susan pride themselves on their hospitality and particularly the food that is served. We keep Rare Breed Pigs to make into our own bacon and sausages, free range hens for proper eggs and have been traditionally rearing Christmas Turkeys for over 20 years. Our two collies Ben and Skye (father and daughter) help us gather all the animals around the farm, whilst our Weimeraner ‘Indy’ looks on with envy!
